Email and SMS Campaigns

Email and SMS campaigns make small business marketing simple and effective. For service businesses like pet care providers, salons, and spas, campaigns help you build customer lists, send follow-up reminders, and automate communication that drives bookings and loyalty.
This help guide will show you how to set up and use Email and SMS campaigns step by step — from creating customer lists to scheduling messages and tracking results — so you can streamline communications, improve engagement, and grow your business.
You can create one time blasts or ongoing campaigns. Once active you can see analytics per campaign as well as overall including the number of campaigns, how many were delivered, opened and clicked on.
To create a new email or text message campaign, go to Clients > Campaigns. Click on 'New Campaign' and select how you want to build the client list. There are two types of campaigns: one time and ongoing. Here's how they differ:

One time SMS or Email campaign: There are 3 ways to find the list of clients.

 - Date joined: when a client signed up. For example, all clients who signed up in August 2025.

 - List of services and a date range: list of clients who had an appointment for one of the services and when. For example, all clients who had a Haircut in August.

 - List of products and a date range: list of clients who purchased a product and when. For example, all clients who bought dog food in July 2025.

Ongoing followup SMS or Email campaign: There are 2 ways to auto generate the list of clients.
- Service followups, rebooking and aftercare: which service(s) and how long ago? For example, list of clients whose most recent Grooming appointment was 5 weeks ago.

- Product related reminders: automate reaching out to clients who purchased a specific product(s) a number of weeks or months ago. For example, all clients who bought dog food in July 2025.

Here's an example campaign. We will create a 1 time promotional email blast for clients who signed up in August.

Go to Clients > Campaigns and click on 'New Campaign'. Select 'By Date Joined':

Name the campaign so it's easy to tell what it's for later. Choose campaign type - email or text message.
Choose the date range.
Fill in the subject and the body of the email. You can personalize it by using placeholders that will be automatically replaced with client's info. For example, use [first_name] for the email text to include the first name of a client.

You can also track clicks on links in your campaign emails. See the next step on how to add one.

To add a click-tracking link (so your Campaign Analytics will tell you how many clients clicked on it) click on 'Insert Link' and enter the Link address and specify Link text.
Once you save your new campaign, you can see it by going to 'Active' campaigns (Clients > Campaigns).
You can use the drop-down button on the right hand side of the campaign name to see a preview or schedule when it should be sent.
Click on Preview to see what a client would see. The name and link text are replaced and the email is ready to be sent.
When you click on Schedule/Send, you can see how many clients will be emailed.
