Overnight stays for Sitting or Boarding

Help guide for pet sitting, kennel and pet boarding businesses on booking overnight stays, managing multi-day reservations, availability, and check-in and check-outs.

There are two ways to book services across multiple days: a continuous stay or repeating visits.

The key difference is how they affect availability: continuous stays may block bookings 24/7, while repeating visits only block the booked time (ex. 8pm to 8am).

Depending on how your business operates, you can configure the system to automatically book and manage both types of stays.

Go to Services and click on Add Service to create a service that can be booked.

Service with a start time and duration
A repeating or a one-off booking for a visit or stay. For example, 'Overnight Stay' service for night visits from 8pm to 8am for a week.

Service with a start and end time
A continuous multi-day stay, common for boarding facilities or kennels that host pets for several days and nights in a row. For example, a week long stay. This type of service has a start and end dates set with the booking spanning the entire date range.

Like any service, when creating or updating it, you can choose whether it:

Blocks availability: preventing other bookings for that staff member

Ignores availability: allow preventing conflicts from being checked when the service is booked

To offer an overnight sitting service that keeps the day-time free for other bookings, choose the Service with a start time and duration.

Customize the start time of this service so it makes sense. For example, if a typical overnight stay is from 8pm to 8am then set the Duration of the service to 12 hours and click on Custom booking times for this service. to configure start times

Select 8:00 PM on the days you offer overnight sitting. After setting it for Sunday, use the Copy from previous day button to apply it to the other days.
